Hiring Process


These instructions explain how to apply for a posting at ATCO and how you can expect the hiring process to unfold. Please note that our hiring needs are always evolving, so the hiring process may vary to accommodate the needs of our nine companies.

Create your profile – Click the “ – Click the “Register” button to create your profile. You will be asked to complete all required fields and to upload your resume.

Create your CareerAlerts – When you create your profile, you will also have the opportunity to create unlimited CareerAlerts that will notify you by email when new opportunities arise that match your search criteria.

Apply for a position – Once you've created your profile, you are now ready to apply to the positions that best fit your qualifications. After you apply to a position, we will notify you with an email to confirm that we have received your resume.

Online questions – Depending on the position you're applying for, you may be asked to answer initial online qualification questions that will give us information about your availability, skills and experience. *Please note that not all positions require online qualification questions.

Initial interview – A member of the ATCO team will review your resume and review your answers to the online qualification questions. Qualified candidates may be selected for initial intereviews. These interviews may be face-to-face or by phone and may involve talking to multiple members of the ATCO team.

Additional interviews – If your skills and experience are a potential match for the position, further interviews may be scheduled. If it is determined that this position is not a fit, you will be notified.

Background check – Before making an offer, ATCO will conduct pre-employment background investigations that may include a criminal background check, as well as verification of education and previous employment. For certain positions, a motor vehicle check will be conducted; for safety-sensitive positions, a pre-employment medical will be completed.

The job offer – If you are identified as the best person for the position, the hiring manager and/or recruiter will contact you to invite you to join the ATCO team. They will follow-up with a written offer letter and include information about the company and our benefits, so you can make the best decision for your career. Don't forget: Please keep your profile up-to-date as much as possible. Recruiters will review profiles from time-to-time and you may be considered for new positions within ATCO as opportunities arise. Keeping your profile up-to-date is the best way to keep us informed of your skills and experience.

Your first days and weeks at ATCO are a critical time to get you up to speed on the company and your role within it. Through support from your supervisor and team, Human Resources, as well as information provided through our online orientation program, you will feel welcomed and empowered to do your best.
